How to concentrate and get outstanding results

Concentration is the ability to focus on one activity or thing for a long period extended periods of time. It involves shutting out all the distraction and external noise that would shift focus away from what one is supposed to do. This helps you work efficiently and effortlessly. We all have different triggers and work well in different environments. Choose what works for you.

Six steps to help you concentrate.

1.Choose a favorable environment: This ranges from person to person but it must be quiet and comfy to be conducive enough for a particular activity or piece of work. This can be a quiet room, outside in nature, surrounded by plants, a place full of people, bustling city noise etc.  This depends on what the person wants, their nature or desires i.e. introverts have varying needs compared to extroverts.

You can also buy noise cancelling headphones or play conducive sounds or music to help you concentrate. Sounds are available on different music platforms like Spotify e.g. rain sounds, ocean beach, forest, noise and music of all genres to put you in the mood to work.

Parents at home can have a home office dedicated to work and away from the kids. A few sound absorbing boards can then be installed to make it quieter and conducive to work.

2.Put your phone in flight mode till the work is done. This helps to mute notifications and help you focus on what you are doing for an hour, two or three after which you can to back to business. Messages can make the mid wander to other things and make you lose focus on what you are doing.

3.Have a fixed attitude. When it comes to work attitude determines everything. With the right attitude and passion towards what you are doing, your mind and body can get work done in a short or longer period of time and also determine how well you perform at it. Have a positive attitude towards your work and you’ll achieve great results.

4.Set deadlines. You are more likely to procrastinate on work that you’ve set no deadline for than that which has a fixed deadline. With a deadline you are forced or pressured to do something in a given time frame thereby not thinking that you still have more time to do something.

5.Plan and schedule in advance. A plan helps you to focus on what important steps of action that you’ll make to achieve something while a schedule helps you to map things out. With a plan, schedule and deadlines on paper, you can concentrate well on task to task and achieve whatever goal that you have set yourself to make. The execution leads to habits which over time helps you to achieve the desired goal.

6.Do your concentrate thingy. Different people have different things or activities that they can do to help them achieve maximum concentration. These can be: playing music, getting a mug of coffee, being warm and snug, surrounded by plants, patting a dog or cat, sitting on a balcony, sitting in a room of focused people like a library, sitting in their favorite bean chair or even being cold. Whatever gets you to concentrate and work? Do it to get those require results.

7.Find your special time which you can work at maximum concentration capacity. This can be in the middle of the night, very early morning, afternoons or late evenings. This is the time you can do maximum work and achieve great results. However you can also train your body to work maximumly in particular times as per the work you are doing, the schedules and the needs that you have.  If you found this content helpful please like, share and subscribe.
